Microsoft's 'Mac clone' defense not working yet in Datel dispute By Todd Bishop on Monday, April 26, 2010, 2:00pm PDT A federal judge has dismissed one count and allowed five others to proceed in Datel Design & Development's antitrust suit against Microsoft over the Xbox 360 maker's crackdown on unauthorized memory units -- small storage devices that plug into the console for saving games and other data. If you're just tuning in, it's an interesting case that could establish some key rules of competition in the game industry. Datel alleges that Microsoft is unfairly controlling the market for Xbox 360 accessories, creating a competitive advantage for its own Xbox 360 memory units. Microsoft argues that it was within its legal rights to issue an update that prevented Datel's cheat-enabling memory units from working with its console. | SPONSORED POST | CoreLink Data Centers - Deal of the Decade The Deal of the Decade: Colocation Pricing - Great Entry Level Offering for Colocation Solutions CoreLink Data Centers offers pre-packaged bundles for data center solutions, including colocation, in secure, environmentally controlled locations. That's nearly double the $16 million that Redfin pulled in last year. Kelman also notes that the company will be profitable in 2010 even though it is opening about one new market every month at a cost of about $200,000 to $300,000 per market. But the best moments are when fireworks erupt between Kelman and Arrington as they debate Seattle versus Silicon Valley. | With offline iPhone music, Rhapsody makes best pitch yet By Todd Bishop on Monday, April 26, 2010, 6:37am PDT Seriously, why are you paying as much as $1 or more for every piece of music you want to download and carry around? That's the very reasonable question that Seattle's Rhapsody music subscription service is implicitly asking today with the launch of an updated iPhone app that allows for offline music playback -- letting subscribers download playlists to their devices for listening even when they aren't connected to a wireless network. | Mirina raises cash from Versant By John Cook on Monday, April 26, 2010, 5:52am PDT A small Seattle biotech startup led by the former director of drug discovery at Icos has scored a new round of financing.
